Description

The very first asset I've contributed to the Overmare Studios Fallout Equestria game. It's a TVset based on the TVs found in Fallout: New Vegas, which turned out to have been based on Philco Predicta models of the late 1950s. Quite the fun model to get introduced to the new Physically based shading engine the Overmare Studios has introduced into the graphics pipeline.

The original higher poly model was built using Rhino 5. It was my intention to use Rhino to create smooth curved shapes quickly and efficiently without having to worry about subdivisions or polycounts. Unfortunately converting the nurbs output of Rhino 5 to polygons for baking the normal map in xnormal proved to cause some difficulties.

The low poly version as displayed above, in-engine, was created in Maya 8.5 and contains 1306 polygons.

The link below contains the overmare's first blog entry detailing the graphics engine and its physically based shading system. It also contains a video displaying several of our asset, including this one.
